[An Object x Mobile Wardrobe Series]

Location: Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
Collaborator: Look Matters, Jupyeah
Date: Since 2016

“An Object 一舊野” is a pack-and-go social bike project initiated by One Bite Social . It brings on an anonymous identity and tries to serve as an intervention to different public space in a subtle and humble way. Spreading its benches and tables in the space according to the site-specific landscape, “An Object 一舊野” will be providing a chit-chat and social spot for every passerby. It will also collaborate with different groups to provide services and events.

In the Mobile Wardrobe series, our collaborator Look Matters, Jupyeah has been an active voice in our city in advocating in the reduce of consuming fast fashion. Instead of buying new fashion items every season, Jupyeah encourages people to donate fashion items in good conditions and in return, for them to ‘jup’ (meaning ‘take’ in Cantonese) items that were donated by others for free. All donated items have been carefully screened and curated by the Jupyeah team. By this free exchange of second hand fashion items, it reduces the need to buy new items and very often, from major fast fashion brands.

The first event was held in Autumn 2016 at Pak Sha Road, Causeway Bay. Participants simply need to pledge not to buy any new fashion items in the coming season, and they could take away free second-hand items for free. Subsequent events were held in Yuen Long and West Kowloon Cultural District in 2017.
